This Blog and Me

Welcome to a quiet pause.

It is a place where I am learning to journal a few quiet pauses in my ordinary, busy life. Let’s get real for a minute. When I say busy, you know what I mean. Most of our lives are full and overflowing. It is hard to catch a breath or a break some days. When we don’t pause to refuel and refresh, we run on empty, and eventually, burn out. But, there is a better way….

Jesus said,

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,

and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

In Mark 6:31, Jesus also told his disciples to “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Jesus knew that they could not continue their ministry, their work, without quiet time and rest with him. Neither can we.

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,

continue to live your lives in him,

rooted and built up in him,

strengthened in the faith as you were taught,

and overflowing with thankfulness.”

Colossians 2:6-7

My prayer is that this blog would encourage and inspire others to find quiet pauses with Jesus, to discover and embrace an abundant life rooted in God’s promises, and to let Him refuel and refresh you.

“In quietness and trust is your strength”

Isaiah 30:15

A little about me…

been married to my love for twenty-nine years.

have two sons. one by birth. one by adoption.

one is a musician. one is an athlete.

lived in beautiful Middle Tennessee all my life (except one year).

love the simple things in life the most like sunsets. fireflies. long walks. back porch dates.

so thankful for the love and abundant grace of Jesus and for my sweet family and friends that make good times even better and hard times much better, too.
